India defeated New Zealand by six runs to clinch three-match One-Day International (ODI) series 2-1 at Green Park in Kanpur on Sunday. Put in to bat, India scored 337/6 in their 50 overs with opener Rohit Sharma and captain Virat Kohli scoring centuries. Rohit’s brilliant 147, his 15th century, and Kohli’s 32nd ton helped India reach a strong total. The India skipper also went past 9,000 ODI runs to become the fastest to reach the landmark, beating South African AB de Villiers’ record. Kohli also scored his sixth century in 2017 which is the most by any captain. In reply, New Zealand did well from the start before falling short by just six runs.
