The gun licences issued to the family of Rocky Yadav, who is accused of killing a teen in Bihar’s Gaya district, were suspended on Friday as officials in Delhi and Gaya moved towards their cancellation.
Rocky’s mother and JD (U) MLC Manorama Devi has three firearms licences, one each for a revolver, rifle and double barren gun. His father Bindi Yadav, who is in judicial custody, was issued a rifle license in 1991 whereas Rocky himself has a pistol licence from Delhi, issued in 2013.
“We have suspended all the firearms licences that were issued to Manorama Devi and her husband,” Gaya district magistrate Kumar Ravi said and added that the security guards allotted to the legislator had also been withdrawn.
The JD(U) leader has been absconding ever since her son was arrested for killing 18-year-old Aditya Sachdeva. During a raid to nab Rocky, the police had recovered six liquor bottles from the legislator’s residence, which violated the prohibition imposed in Bihar .
Meanwhile, a Gaya court on Friday served a proclamation order at the residence and properties of the tainted MLC.
