Chander Mohan to be Haryana Deputy CM

The four-time Congress MLA from Kalka and son of former CM Bhajan Lal is likely to be made the Dy Chief Minister of Haryana.

Four-time Congress MLA from Kalka, Chander Mohan, son of former Chief Minister Bhajan Lal, is likely to be made the Deputy Chief Minister of Haryana, official sources said.

The formal announcement is expected shortly as Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda is also expected to allocate the portfolios to the ten Cabinet rank ministers, who were sworn in last week, the sources said.

An official spokesman said that there was still no official announcement regarding the allocation of portfolios or Chander Mohan being made the Deputy Chief Minister.

Hooda had returned from Delhi and is expected to recommend to the Governor the portfolios of the ministers.

The others, who were sworn in, were Ajay Yadav, Birender Singh, Kartar Devi, Lachhman Dass Arora, Om Parkash Jindal, Phool Chand Mullana, Randeep Surjewala, Surender Singh and Vinod Sharma.

Surjewala is working president of the state Congress, Jindal is an industrialist, Surender Singh is a son of former Chief Minister Bansi Lal and Vinod Sharma is a former Union Minister. The remaining five -- Ajay Yadav, Birender Singh, Kartar Devi, Arora and Mullana are former ministers of the party.
