Justice Shashi Kulshreshtha said this before formally inaugurating Centre for Consumer Protection Research and Awareness (CCPRA) established by Senior Citizens Forum at Hotel Amar Vilas today.

Justice Kulshreshtha highlighted the need to stick to one advisor from the beginning of the case till the end. Former Vice Chancellor Dr P N Kawathekar said that sometimes, small plants grow well under big trees. No institution of being can survive without faith.

Faith and foresightedness are essential aspects of justice. Dr Kawathekar gave examples of poets like Surdas and Milton who could see beyond the layers of society even after being visually challenged.

CCPRA president Justice P D Muley assured that this centre would help the consumer with its relatively simple procedures and less formalities. He quoted instances of strange cases where consumer got their due rights.

Muley asked the people to be aware of their rights and never hesitate to report such matters of injustice. He said that law must provide correct solutions to the problems of public. Similarly public must know when to question the law.

The consumer who lodges the complaint would have to pay for typing and notice fee, court fee, transportation charges and CCPRA registration fee Rs 500.

CCPRA vice president Dr N Virmani, co-organiser R D Yadav, secretary D D Barkalle, joint secretary Hemant Chalisgaonkar and treasurer V D Agashe welcomed the guests.

B N Bose conducted the programme while CCPRA governing body member and educationist Prof B K Nilose proposed the vote of thanks.

Divisional Commissioner Ashok Das and B J Heerjee were the special guests on this occasion.
