Delivering a keynote address at the International Alumni Meet here at the HBTI on Saturday, Goel said that at the national level, the Institute was far better than the institutes placed under top ten institutions including the IITs and NITs. This was the only institution, which provided quality education at a very low cost, he added.
However, he said that the educational standards of the Institute could further be improved by ensuring the services of quality teachers, raising the teacher-taught ratio, formulating a standard syllabi, providing advanced infrastructure facilities and attracting good students.
He urged his fellow alumni to donate generously to their alma mater to put it in high esteem. He said that they should not consider the HBTI as a simple building made up of bricks and mortar instead they should consider it as an object of “emotional bond’, which has made them live with pride.
He made an appeal to the alumni that they should join the Institute through International Harcourtians’ Alumni Association and should draw concrete strategies for its further growth. Harendra Agarwal, another alumnus suggested that the alumni should offer industry-institute interaction and help the students in placement and training.
