Music icon Madonna has denied reports that her close relationship with producer Stuart Price is causing trouble in her five-year old marriage to British director Guy Ritchie, by insisting that the two of them are just friends.

Rumours of the Madonna-Price relationship started circulating after it was noticed that the Hung Up singer was spending a lot of time with the 28 year old producer, despite work on the album Confessions On a Dancefloor having ended quite some time back.

According to a source, working on the album had brought the two together, and Madonna now considered Price to be one of the most important people in her life.

"It's no secret that Madonna and Stuart have developed a special working relationship. They enjoy each other's company and respect each other. She confides in him and regards him as one of the most important people in her life," Contactmusic quoted the source, as telling British newspaper The Daily Mirror.

However Madonna's publicist, Liz Rosenberg, insisted that the superstar singer's marriage was not on the rocks, and that Madonna treated Price as her younger brother.

"There's no strain in Madonna's marriage. Her relationship with Guy is good. They are happy. She treats him (Price) like a little brother. They have fun and talk a lot," she said.
