NDF worker hacked to death near Thalassery

Though senior police officials have visited the spot they are yet to identify the perpetrators of the crime.

An activist of Kerala-based Islamic outfit National Development Front (NDF) was hacked to death early on Sunday by unidentified persons near Thalassery, 21 kms from Kannur, police said.

The body of Faisal (35), with deep cut wounds, was found at around 4.30 am near a road leading to Seydaar mosque at Madapeedika, DIG (North) S Anantha Krishnan said.

He said police was yet to identify the perpetrators of the crime. Senior police officials have visited the spot.

Faisal was the local distributor of NDF mouthpiece Thejus, a Malayalese daily.

The body was shifted to Thalassery government hospital for postmortem.
