Pandit Jasraj gets Kerala Govt's award

Noted Hindustani vocalist Pandit Jasraj has been selected for the "2007 Swathi Puraskaram" of the Kerala Government.

Noted Hindustani vocalist Pandit Jasraj has been selected for the "2007 Swathi Puraskaram" of the Kerala Government.
The award, instituted by the Cultural Department, carries a cash prize of Rs one lakh and a citation, Education and Culture Minister MA Baby said in Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday.
Noted percussionists Thrikkamburam Krishnan Kutty Marar and Velloor Madhom Narayanan Marar were selected for the "2007 Pallavur Appu Marar Puruaskaram".
Kerala Sangeeta Nataka Akademi Chairman Murali was also present when Baby made the announcement.
