The test covered all aspects, including his alleged role in the case, with the agency trying to ascertain whether the crime was linked to overseas bank accounts in Sheena’s name, which may have contained funds in the multi-crore range.

During the test, which was conducted at the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL), Peter was asked over a hundred questions on his knowledge of and role in, if any, events and circumstances prior to Sheena’s murder on April 24, 2012 and a period of three years afterwards, said a CBI source.

Peter was asked if Indrani had opened an account in Sheena’s name in Singapore or Hong Kong to park around Rs 900 crore, allegedly siphoned off from firms after 2006-7. The CBI, which has sought the Interpol’s help, said it has been examining if the accounts in Singapore/Hong Kong were in Sheena’s name.

According to CBI sources, Peter’s responses showed “deceptions and inconsistencies” on certain issues, though the agency has not got the final report from the CFSL. The polygraph test was done in two sessions – on Friday and Saturday. The CBI source said that Peter was asked if he had ever cared to speak to Sheena personally over the telephone to ascertain Indrani’s claims of her being alive.
