Ten Sports elated with SC Judgement

Ten Sports is extremely elated with the Supreme Court judgement on telecast rights, and believes that it will lead to new beginning.

Ten sports is very pleased that a solution has been found which will help both the parties, according to a top ranking official of the Channel.

In an e-mail to the HindustanTimes.com, he said now we can look forward to a new beginning as "while we retain the exclusive live coverage, even in the non-cable areas viewers can see the highlights of the games on daily basis."

The official said, "the decision will make a big difference to our potential ad income and subscription income… (but) now the issue is that the ODIs still have to be decided."

''The decision on Tuesday also suggests that test matches (because Doordarshan said they didn’t want them live) may now be excluded from the broadcasting legislation."

Buoyed by the judgement, Ten Sports are now planning to do "pre and post game programming featuring top analysts and former players Geoff Boycott, Imran Khan and Nasser Hussain."
