The car, whose passengers were going to Surat, was badly damaged in the accident. The injured have been admitted to Dhar district hospital.

Dhar SP Rajesh Hingankar said that a case is being registered against the officials of National Highway and the company constructing the highway.

SP Hingankar said that even though the road is under construction, no efforts have been made by the construction company to put any road markers or indicators or necessary signage to guide vehicles on the road.

The SP said that lack of proper signage was one of the main reasons for the accident.

The construction of the road has been hanging fire for years. The company again took up the work after stopping work for four years, but it is going on at a very slow pace.
