Indore: Disabled man to drive with legs to Ladakh

Vikram Agnihotri, who is set to hit the roads on September 21, drives a normal car, unlike disabled people abroad who customise their cars to fulfil their aspirations. “Whether physical, mental or emotional obstacles, we should not let anything come between us and our goals. One needs to make the most out of themselves. You still have a lot of potential in yourself that you are not exploiting to the fullest,” quips Agnihotri.

This 20-day long trip is the reason behind Vikram’s struggle to get a permanent driving license from Regional Transport Office (RTO). “I have a learner’s license but still haven’t been issued my permanent license. With this trip, I want to make people aware that anybody can drive,” said Vikram, who drives his car with ease on the busy roads of Indore.

Agnihotri’s road trip will be flagged off from India Gate in Delhi with stoppages at Amritsar and Jammu. On his way back, Vikram will take a different route via Manali, Himachal Pradesh.

“It is certainly not going to be an easy drive because the terrain is tough. But that is what the fun is all about. On our way, we are going to meet many groups, including army personnel and create awareness regarding this issue,” he added.
