Farmers of four districts of the state will get Rs 105 crore as mid-term insurance payment for crop damage because of excessive rain, agriculture minister Prabhu Lal Saini on Thursday.

Water logging in fields damaged kharif crops in Sirohi, Pali, Jalore and Barmer districts from July 22 to 30 this year. Chief minister Vasundhara Raje ordered a survey to assess the loss.
The farmers who suffered 50% crop damage will be paid 25% of due payment under the Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme (PMCIS), Saini said.
“27.35 crore farmers of the four districts will be paid Rs 105.42 crore. The amount has been sanctioned, and it will be credited soon to the accounts of the farmers.” Jalore and Pali districts will get Rs 42.08 crore, Sirohi Rs 3.14 crore, and Barmer Rs 60.20 crore.
The remaining amount will be paid to the farmers after the crop harvest and final assessment of the damage, Saini said.
Under PMCIS, farmers pay 2% of the premium for kharif crops and 1.5% for rabi crops, and the rest of the amount is borne by the state and the Centre.
