2 die as moderate polling recorded in 5 Bihar Lok Sabha seats

One person was killed and another injured when lightning struck close to a polling booth in Araria in the third phase of voting that covered five Lok Sabha seats in Bihar on Tuesday.

An average turnout of 59.97% was recorded in Jhanjharpur, Araria, Khagaria, Supaul and Madhepura.

Some people, including three women, were injured when the police used mild force to disperse a mob that had gathered near booth numbers 152, 153 and 154 of Narpatganj constituency in Araria. “There was only one incident of temporary disruption in polls at booth number 12,” said Araria DM Baidyanath Yadav.
