Bhojpuri film city in Gorakhpur if BJP voted to power again: Ravi Kishan
Ravi Kishan, a Brahmin by caste and a native of Jaunpur with roots in Gorakhpur’s village Moonkhar, said he would file his nomination after offering prayer at Gorakhnath temple on April 23 and would be possibly accompanied by CM Yogi Adityanath.
Actor-turned-politician Ravi Kishan, who is contesting from Gorakhpur Lok Sabha seat on a BJP ticket, promised to set up Bhojpuri film industry in the district if BJP was voted to power again.
“An MoU with state government has been already been signed to set up Bhojpuri film industry in sprawling 150-acre area with an outlay of ₹500 crores in the heart of city so that youths can pursue their dreams of earning name and fame in film industry,” the actor said during an interaction with reporters at BJP’s Beniganj office soon after a meeting with party leaders. He also took part in Hanuman Shobha Yatra.

The actor had on Thursday led a grand road show after offering puja at Gorakhnath temple and sought blessing for massive mandate on the seat, represented earlier for five consecutive terms between 1998 and 2017 by Adityanath.
“We are going to win 73 plus seats with historical win in the land of Baba Gorakhnath and CM Yogi. I will serve the people of Gorakhpur by keeping the Kharau (wooden slippers) of Yogi Ji,” he said.
Ravi Kishan would be facing SP candidate Ram Bhuwal Nishad who had replaced sitting MP Praveen Nishad after the latter joined BJP last month. Gorakhpur goes to poll on May 19.
