BJP ‘robbed’ Akhilesh’s home: Mayawati
Blaming the BJP for causing a rift between Shivpal Yadav and his nephew SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, she said, “The BJP also robbed Akhilesh Yadav’s home.
Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati Wednesday hit back at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for repeatedly calling BSP’s alliance with Samajwadi Party (SP) and Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) in Uttar Pradesh a “mahamilavati [adulterated]”. She called Modi “mahamilavati”.
Blaming the BJP for causing a rift between Shivpal Yadav and his nephew SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, she said, “The BJP also robbed Akhilesh Yadav’s home. It [BJP] separated his [Akhilesh Yadav]’s uncle, Shivpal, from the family and ensured the formation of his party.”
Speaking at a rally in support of the SP chief, who is the alliance candidate from Azamgarh, Mayawati said they will oust Modi and Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath from power.
“After five phases of elections, the BJP is nowhere in Uttar Pradesh. I am confident that regional parties will also do best in other states. Modi is not coming back.”
Shivpal Yadav is the brother of Akhilesh’s father, SP patron Mulayam Singh. In 2018, Shivpal formed the Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party (Lohiya).
Accusing the BJP of being behind the formation of smaller political outfits of backward castes in order to divide the OBC votes, she said the BJP has robbed the SP chief ’s home.
UP BJP general secretary Vijay Bahadur Pathak said, “Behenji is getting desperate and it has started showing. Our offer to her is open. Post May 23, when the alliance comes unstuck, she can rely on us as we helped her become CM in the past, too.”
