The Hinjewadi IT park residents welfare association have demanded for adequate water supply, waste management, steps to curb air pollution, river rejuvenation among other things in their manifesto that was released on April 20.

“It is evident that Hinjewadi is an urban area. The duties of the local body should be made mandatory and citizens should have a say in its functioning, where we get the right to seek termination and transfer of civic employees,” said Sudhir Deshmukh, one of the people who presented the manifesto.

The manifesto also highlights the need for integrated waste management with proper biogas plants, biomass composting plants, biomass briquette plants as well as recycling of plastic to fuel plants. “The problem of garbage dumping and burning has become a health hazard to lakhs of residents. This problem needs immediate intervention by making necessary infrastructure available to process garbage and at the same time ensure that air pollution laws are made strict,” states the manifesto.

The manifesto also highlights the Hinjewadi startup entrepreneurship incubation hub, with special focus on rural entrepreneurs, to attract the best startups.
