Continuing her attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) president Mayawati on Wednesday said Modi’s tenure as Gujarat chief minister was a blot on the communal history of the country.
“I have been the chief minister of UP for four terms. My government worked for people’s welfare and development. People still remember the good works done by my government. PM Modi was the chief minister of Gujarat but his tenure was a blot on the history of communal harmony,” Mayawati said in a press statement. She said under the BSP government, UP was free from riots and disorder whereas Modi’s tenure, not only as Gujarat CM but also as the country’s PM, was chaotic, violent, tense and filled with hatred.
“Modi is totally unfit for the post. People should not give another term to Modi,” she added. On the issue of corruption, she said Modi was in the grip of a disorder due to which he felt that he was clean and the opposition leaders were corrupt. “People across the country are aware of the fact that majority of corrupt politicians having ‘benami’ properties are associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP),” she said.
Condemning rival parties for their jibe against her that she is not ‘Dalit ki beti’ but ‘daulat ki beti’ (not a daughter of Dalit but of wealth), she said such allegations were made by people who had anti-Dalit and casteist mentality.
