Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a rally in Rohtak on May 10, chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar said here on Monday.
Khattar was in Rohtak to address public meetings as part of his campaign for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. Rohtak is the only Lok Sabha seat in Haryana which was won by the Congress in 2014 elections. To counter three-time Congress MP Deepender Singh Hooda, the BJP has fielded Arvind Sharma as its candidate in Rohtak.
The PM will campaign for him while BJP chief Amit Shah is set to addres rallies for the party in Sonepat, Panipat, Yamunanagar, Hisar, Charkhi Dadri and Palwal.
Both Modi and Shah are in the list of BJP’s star campaigners for Haryana. Khattar said he was confident that BJP would win all 10 seats in Haryana.
Lashing out at former CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda and his son Deepender, Khattar said the father-son duo will lose badly in the polls. Hooda is contesting from Sonepat seat.
“Hooda wants to reach Chandigarh by taking the Delhi route. But all his dreams will shatter on May 23 when he will lose the election,” he said. Taking a dig at Congress over the infighting in the party, Khattar said it was party leader Randeep Surjewala’s conspiracy to force Hooda and Deepender to fight the elections, so he could benefit from their loss. “Just like Hoodas conspired against Surjewala in Jind bypoll, he has conspired against them here,” he said.
