All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi’s rally at Sundernagar in Mandi district was cancelled due to bad weather on Tuesday.
AICC in-charge of party affairs for Himachal Rajni Patil said that her plane was not allowed to fly due to bad weather prevailing in the region.
“There was security concern due to weather conditions,” she said.
Priyanka Gandhi was expected to arrive at 12 pm. However, later the Congress leaders informed about cancellation of her visit.
Earlier, another rally of hers to be held at Theog was also cancelled due to bad weather.
Meanwhile, Congress supporters who had come from far off places were disappointed due to cancellation of rally.
“The state Congress leaders should have arranged to address the rally through mobile phones,” said Mohan Negi, a Congress supporter from Kinnaur.
The leaders who addressed the rally included ex- chief minister Virabhadr Singh, former union minister Anand Sharma, former telecom minister Sukh Ram, AICC in-charge of Himachal Rajni Patil, leader of opposition Mukesh Agnihotri and Himachal Congress chief Kuldeep Rathore.
