Maharashtra state chief minister Devendra Fadnavis left no stone unturned while slamming Congress president Rahul Gandhi while talking to the public at Phadke maidan in Kalyan (West) in support of Bhiwandi Loksabha candidate Kapil Patil on Monday. He claimed Rahul’s speech is a like reading a script, and there is a need to put disclaimer similar to the one shown before a TV serial.

He said,” Rahul Gandhi has expressed regret in the Supreme Counrt for incorrectly attributing his Chowkidar Narendra Modi chor hai remarks to the SC’s verdict in the Rafale case. This proves that his speeches are more like reading a script.”

He added,”There is a need to display disclaimer before all his speeches similar to those shown before a TV serial. One cannot run a country by reading script or giving mere speeches.”

Fadnavis questioned all the senior leaders of Congress and NCP party on their slogan of eliminating poverty from the country. By taking each senior leaders name he pointed out none of the could eliminate poverty in the last 50 years.

“From where are they going to give 72000 to the poor now when they could not do anything since last 50 years even if they had their own prime ministers for years. When they had chance they filled their own pockets and now they are giving false promises,”said Fadnavis.

Ahead of the Loksabha elections, Rahul Gandhi has assured that if voted to power, his party will ensure a minimum income guarantee of Rs 72,000 a year to the poor.

Fadnavis also compared now the Modi-led government responded to the recent Pulwana terrorist attack and how Congress- NCP has failed to act upon the Mumbai blasts in 2008.

He said,”Prime minister Narendra Modi had responded to the terror attacks promptly while the Congress did not during anything about the previous attacks and today they are asking proofs of the IAF strike at Balakhot.”

Although Fadnavis slammed all the big leaders of the opposition party in his speech he did not utter a single word about Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray who is supporting the Congress - NCP this time. This has raised concerns among the local party workers who attended the public meeting.

A BJP party worker, who did not wish to be named said," Since Raj Thackeray has a strong hold in Kalyan Dombivli he might have avoided talking against him in Kalyan. He had spoke about Raj in his earlier speeches but not here in Kalyan. This has however disappointed some of the party workers."
