Mishra, whom SP national president Akhilesh Yadav had expelled early last month, asked Ramgopal: “If you were such a big well-wisher of Akhileshji, then why had you signed the letter that announced the dismissal of Akhilesh Yadav as the state president of the party?”

Mishra has been a close aide of Akhilesh’s uncle party Shivpal Yadav. Though Mishra is no longer in the party, he continues to be chief aide of Shivpal and is national president of the Samajwadi Chintan Sabha.

The letter dated June 4, says about Ramgopal: “… instead of signing the letter of displacement of Akhilesh Yadav as the state president, you would have tried to prevent Netaji (SP patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav) from dismissing him from the post. Netaji had always blind faith in you. He would have listened to you. Instead, you signed the letter and released it. Thereafter, you cried foul. That stance of yours made the political situation uncertain, confused and perilous. Thereafter not only the image of the party, the reputation of Netaji, Shivpalji and Akhileshji took a nosedive.”
