Discounted AC local fares to stay till end of this month
“The existing fare of the AC local will remain unchanged till May-end, as the Ministry of Railways has decided to extend the introductory offer,” said Ravinder Bhakar, chief public relations officer, WR.
Commuters travelling on Mumbai’s first air-conditioned local train on Western Railway (WR) can enjoy the current concessional fare till the end of the month. On Tuesday, the railway announced it would further extend the introductory fare from April 24 to May 31.

“The existing fare of the AC local will remain unchanged till May-end, as the Ministry of Railways has decided to extend the introductory offer,” said Ravinder Bhakar, chief public relations officer, WR.
Currently, 12 services of the AC local run from Monday to Friday between Churchgate and Virar. According to WR, since its launch on December 25, 2017, the railway has earned ₹23.92 crore in revenue. “We garnered approximately ₹1.84 crore in April 2019,” said Bhakar.
