The Sakinaka police have arrested a man for allegedly abusing and threatening an on-duty traffic police constable on Monday morning on Saki Vihar road in Andheri (east). The constable had reportedly asked the accused to move his motorcycle to the side of the road since it was creating a traffic jam.

According to the police, the incident took place at around 10am when the arrested accused Anupras More, 31, a resident of Malwani, Malad was riding his bike from Khairani road towards Saki Vihar road.
He stopped his vehicle on the Saki Vihar road for some reason and had blocked the ongoing traffic which caused an inconvenience to other motorists as a result. The complainant, Manoj Parit, 40, the traffic police constable from the Sakinaka traffic police division was posted at the spot.
Parit went up More and asked him to move his bike ahead or to the back so that other vehicles could move ahead. More kicked up an argument with the constable and abused him repeatedly.
Parit then called the emergency number 100 but the line was busy so he called up the Sakinaka police who rushed to the spot. More was caught and taken to the police station.
“The accused was denied bail on Tuesday and has been sent to the Arthur Road jail. He will have to stay there till he is granted bail,” a police official from Sakinaka police station said.
