“Kamal is the mastermind who has admitted to smuggling in the past,” said an officer.

The three, residents of Ulhasnagar, were leaving for Dubai when they were intercepted. The officials recovered 85,000 Euros, 7,100 US dollars and 905 United Arab Emirates Dirham, collectively worth Rs68.64 lakh.

“The accused had rolled the foreign currency and inserted it up their rectums,” said the officer. In order to avoid suspicion, Kamal had booked the flight tickets separately. “We were suspicious about Kamal. He was being grilled when it was revealed that Ayushi too was involved,” said the officer. After questioning Ayushi, they learnt of Avi’s role, the officer added.
