Woman’s charred body found in Palghar district
Tribal women, who were collecting firewood, found the partially-charred body near the Mahadev temple in Virar off the highway
The body of an unidentified woman was found off the Mumbai-Ahmedabad National Highway 8, near Virar, on Thursday morning.
This is the second body found in a week, in Virar.
On Sunday morning, tribal women, who were collecting firewood, found the partially-charred body near the Mahadev temple off the highway.
“The body is yet to be identified,” said a Virar police office.
“On Thursday morning, four kms away from the same temple, another woman’s body was found, which was burnt beyond recognition,” said Jayant Bajbale, deputy superintendent of police, Virar. He said that both the bodies were burnt during early morning hours, which has made identification difficult. “We have registered a case of murder against unidentified persons and further investigations are on. We are also checking for any missing complaints lodged at the Palghar police station to get a go ahead in the case,” said Bajbale.
