Adar Poonawalla, CEO of Serum Institute of India that manufactures the Covishield vaccine, has closed a deal to buy London’s most expensive house of the year worth approximately ₹1446 crore, according to a report in Financial Times. He has agreed to pay the amount for a 25,000 square foot Mayfair mansion. Aberconway House is a 1920s home near Hyde Park which will change hands after a sale was agreed by Dominika Kulczyk, daughter of the late businessman Jan Kulczyk, who was Poland’s richest man. With its staggering price of £138 million, this deal will make Aberconway House the second-most expensive home ever sold in London.(File)

Ravi Ruia, Essar billionaire’s family office had purchased the Hanovar Lodge mansion earlier this year for ₹1189 crore (£113mn) purchase. This property was linked to Russian property investor Andrey Goncharenko. Bloomberg had reported that Ruia's family office had purchased the Hanover Lodge mansion overlooking Regent’s Park at 150 Park Road in July through a sale of the home’s Gibraltar-incorporated holding company.(Essar)

Lakshmi Mittal owns bungalows located in premium locations in London. He reportedly owns Summer Palace on Bishop Avenue. Way back in 2004, he had spent £70 million, a world record, buying a 12-bedroom house with parking for 20 cars in Kensington Palace Gardens in west central London. The Hinduja brothers - Srichand, Gopichand, Prakash and Ashok - acquired 13-16 Carlton House Terrace in 2006. This is a heritage structure built in 1831 and is spread over 67,000 square feet in the City of Westminster, neighbouring Buckingham Palace. The family bought the property for £58 million from the Crown Estate and spent another £50 million in renovations before they moved in in 2011. They also own the Old War Office (OWO) at Whitehall, which was purchased for £1.2 billion in 2014. In September 2023, the OWO of Prime Minister Winston Churchill which was also frequented by James Bond creator Ian Fleming, opened its doors to the public as a luxury hotel - Raffles London at the OWO- for the first time since its completion in 1906.(Forbes)

Mukesh Ambani owns Stoke Park, a 900-year-old hotel located in the outskirts of London. It is a 49-bedroom property with a 27-hole golf course, 14 acres of private gardens, and 13 tennis courts.
