PHOTOS: Garden of Six Seasons, an international group show at Hong Kong

Para Site’s new two-venue, large-scale group exhibition ‘Garden of Six Seasons’, opened earlier this month in Hong Kong. ‘Garden of Six Seasons’ discusses appropriate frameworks of understanding and bringing together these multiple aesthetic and cosmological lineages active today, from Paubha painting in Nepal to ink in East Asia and barkcloth in the Pacific, as well as to other languages marginalised by a Eurocentric canon. The show is curated by Cosmin Costinas, Executive Director of Para Site and Artistic Director of the upcoming edition of Kathmandu Triennale. The exhibition is the precursor to the Kathmandu Triennale 2077 (the triennale is set to open in December 2020, which is the year 2077 as per the indigenous Nepali calendar system). The themes and a number of the artists presented in Hong Kong will later travel to Kathmandu for an expanded presentation, in collaboration with co-Curators of #KT2077, Hit Man Gurung and Sheelasha Rajbhandari.
