Photos: Global coronavirus pandemic puts childhoods on pause

Over 530,000 people have been infected globally and over 24,000 have died due to the spread of the coronavirus around the world as of March 27, 2020. Stringent measures to curb the spread of the virus have been enforced around the world, from the suspension of public gatherings, schools and offices to nationwide lockdowns. Even the once-normal rituals of youth, from classrooms to playgrounds to birthday parties, have been upended by social distancing as the world tackles the coronavirus.
