The Southwest Monsoon has picked up momentum and conditions are favourable for its advancement into the rest of the country. The monsoon made a comeback in Mumbai on Sunday putting normal life out of the gear, but also led to a huge drop in pollution levels. The coastal regions of Karnataka and parts of West Bengal also experienced flood like situations due to heavy rains. The monsoon is expected to officially arrive in Delhi-NCR on June 28 with fairly widespread rainfall and sustained easterly winds bringing moisture from the Bay of Bengal but the capital has seen minor showers early Tuesday morning itself.
