Photos: India’s Covid-19 tests cross 40 million mark

On August 28, India conducted 9 lakh tests for coronavirus (Covid-19) disease, taking the total for tests conducted since the emergence of the virus past the 40 million. At least 10 million tests of those have been conducted in the past 2 weeks. Experts believe it is only by aggressive testing that positive cases can be identified at an early stage, their close contacts promptly tracked and isolated as well as timely and effective treatment can be ensured. The difference between recoveries and active cases of Covid-19 in the country has simultaneously crossed 18 lakhs, at 18,41,925.
