Photos: Tamil Nadu Covid-19 case count crosses 50,000

After Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu now holds the second spot for the worst-hit state in the country with over 50,000 coronavirus cases as of June 18. The situation is particulary alarming for the capital city of Chennai which records as more than 70% of cases in the state. In view of a surge in Covid-19 cases, chief minister K Palaniswami announced a complete lockdown in Chennai and three districts earlier this week that will come into effect from June 19 to 30.
