In pics | Autumn transformation of this Mughal Garden is just bliss

Jammu and Kashmir is a trove of treasure when it comes to scenic beauties and natural wonders. One such – Nishat Garden located on the eastern side of the Dal Lake, close to Srinagar - is the second largest Mughal garden in the valley. It was designed in 1633 by Asif Khan, elder brother of Nur Jehan and has an interesting history associated to it. Documents note that when Emperor Shah Jahan visited the garden, mesmerised by its beauty - he had hoped Khan, his father-in-law would gift it to him which did not happen. In 'jealously', Shah Jahan is believed to have cut off the water supply to garden, leaving it deserted for a while. Fortunately, the garden still blooms and these pictures of yellow, red and crimson (mostly) chinar leaves of Autumn are a sight for us to behold.
