In pics: Heavy rain lashes Lucknow, waterlogging in several areas
Eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh witnessed heavy rainfall on Thursday. Around 30 districts, including Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi have received incessant rains since late on Wednesday night.
Lucknow received intermittent spells of rainfall throughout Thursday causing waterlogging and traffic in several areas. Power disruptions were also reported from certain parts of the city.(ANI)

Tribals and farmers affected by the Ken-Betwa river-linking project stage a symbolic Chita Andolan (pyre protests), Jal Satyagraha and hanging satyagraha by placing nooses around their necks, over their demands of better compensation and rehabilitation, in Chhatarpur district, Madhya Pradesh. The 15-day protest ended after police removed them from site.

New Delhi woke up to light rain, drizzle and breezy conditions on Friday morning, with the weather department issuing a yellow alert for the day. The alert signalled the possibility of moderate weather disruptions and urged residents to stay cautious.
