Born on January 23, 1897, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose played a crucial role in India's freedom movement. The Modi government is observing January 23, 2022, as 'Parakram Diwas' to commemorate Bose.

Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s 126th birth anniversary is being observed today, January 23. On the occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually unveiled the model of a proposed memorial dedicated to Netaji, to be set up in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Modi also named 21 islands of the Union Territory after Param Vir Chakra awardees.  (PTI)
