Photo: A then & now of bull running images from San Fermin fest, Spain

For the first time since the 1930s, the San Fermin festival in Spain has been called off due to the coronavirus outbreak. Photographer Jon Nazca superimposed images from 2019's bull running tradition at the festival onto the emptiness of the spaces now. Each year, Pamplona draws large crowds to witness and take part in this local tradition-- of getting chased by bulls in the city's narrow, cobbled streets. Residents are still dressing up in white clothes to mark the festival, and reruns are being aired in the absence of the real event.
