Three teenagers drown in Ghod river in Pune district

Two teenagers drowned in Ghod river and a 14-year-old boy with them, also suspected to have drowned, went missing on Tuesday evening. The three teenagers were identified as Ankita Borade, 18; Sejal Hule, 16 and Prajwal Hule, 14. The incident happened near the stretch of Ghod river in Shinoli village.

The three teenagers were identified as Ankita Borade, 18; Sejal Hule, 16 and Prajwal Hule, 14.

The incident happened near the stretch of Ghod river in Shinoli village.

The death of the teenagers were recorded as accidental deaths at the Ghodegaon police station under the Pune rural police jurisdiction.

Prajwal’s body was found on Wednesday morning, according to the police. Their bodies were sent for post-mortem at a local hospital. While Ankita was a college student, Sejal had appeared for the Class 10 examinations and Prajwal was studying in Class 7.

Prajwal and Sejal were visiting their aunt in Shinoli village for their summer vacations. The three had left home stating that they were going out to play. They reached the embankment along Ghod river and are suspected to have drowned while playing there.

The relatives of the children started looking for the children.
