In his complaint to the Moga senior superintendent of police (SSP), Sharma stated that few people, including ASI Surinder Pal Singh and head constable Jatinder Kumar, attacked him with weapons and wooden sticks when he was returning home after shutting shop.

The victim alleged that two years ago, Vikram Sharma - one of the attackers - had opened fire at him using a revolver. A case was registered by the Kot-Ise-Khan police against Vikram. "After that we had reached a compromise in the presence of my close relatives," he added in his complaint.

As per information, ASI Singh is posted at Smalsar police station under Baghapurana sub-division, and head constable Jatinder Kumar is posted at Ajitwal police station under Nihal Singh Wala sub-division of the district.

Investigating officer (IO) Jaswinder Singh said, "A case has been registered against the ASI, head constable, Vikram Sharma, Lucky Takkar, Raghu Sharma, all residents of Kot-Ise-Khan, Raman Sharma of Zira in Ferozepur district and four unidentified people at the Kot-Ise-Khan police station based on the victim's complaint. Investigations are on in the case."

Moga SSP Jatinder Singh Khaira said he had ordered an inquiry into the case.
