After Sanjay Singh secured bail on February 8 from a local court, Majithia on February 17 had sought the cancellation of these orders on the grounds that Sanjay Singh continued to accuse him of direct involvement in Punjab’s drug trade.
Defence counsel Himmat Singh Shergill submitted that the statements against Majithia “were of fact and no one could stop him from stating the facts”. “There is adequate evidence to corroborate Majithia’s involvement in the Jagdish Bhola synthetic drug racket in the light of the statements that three accused have recorded before the Enforcement Directorate (ED),” he submitted.
