Effectiveness of FUE hairtransplant discussed at DMCH

A two-day conference on “follicular unit extraction (FUE) hair transplant and lasers in post burn and acne scars” began at the department of plastic surgery of Dayanand Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) on Saturday.

A two-day conference on “follicular unit extraction (FUE) hair transplant and lasers in post burn and acne scars” began at the department of plastic surgery of Dayanand Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) on Saturday.

While conducting a live workshop on the FUE hair transplant, Rajesh Rajput from Mumbai said: “Hair loss is a disease affecting nearly 80% men. The FUE transplant is a procedure where hairs are transplanted from the permanent zone to the bald or balding areas of the scalp.”

Head of plastic surgery at Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC), New Delhi, RB Ahuja presented a talk on 'reviewing surgical options for palatal fistula to position them in armamentarium'.

The guest speakers at the conference - Lokesh Kumar from Apollo Hospital, New Delhi, and Lalit Makhija from Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, New Delhi - spoke on 'gynaecomastia' and 'perforator flaps in lower leg and foot', respectively.

Rakesh Khazanchi from Medanta - The Medicity, Gurgaon, elaborated on the topic 'breast augmentation'.

The post-lunch scientific sessions included discussions on 'hand re-implantation' by Ravi Mahajan from Amritsar and 'bat ear correction' by Lokesh Kumar from New Delhi.
