After the intense election pressure, it is the result which is bothering the candidates now. Candidates who contested the Gurdaspur Lok Sabha by elections were seen spending time with party workers and colleagues who helped them in campaigning.
The elections had kept the candidates on toes and their schedules tight, as most of them covered many miles a day, to reach out to the voters scattered in nine assembly segments.
The late declaration of the tickets and the less time span in between the voting days had spurred the think tank of all the parties to make plans covering maximum area in minimum days. The Congress had divided the burden of their candidate Sunil Jakhar , dividing it among MLAs from respective assembly segments. On the other hand, BJP was seen depending upon SAD chief Sukhbir Badal and Bikram Jeet Singh Majithia who kept on rallying for BJP candidate Swaran Singh Salaria.
“I spent time with my son and daughter who had come to Pathankot to support me,’ said AAP candidate Major General(retd) SK Khajuria. “A soldier never takes rest but keeps on moving.So, I will also work till the results come out,” Khajuria said. “Due to hectic campaigning I was unable to spend time with my wife. So, I will spend more time with her. I will also analyse our performance,” he said.
BJP candidate Swaran Salaria was also seen relaxing with his family at his native village Chauhana. Salaria said, “I am definitely anxious about the results. I will meet party workers and thank everyone who supported me during elections.”

{{/usCountry}}Congress candidate Sunil Jakhar who is also president Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee(PPCC) said that he had returned to his routine work. “I will attend a party meeting in Chandigarh. No rest and no tension is my basic nature.”
The candidates and voters are equally anxious for the poll results, said Pathankot resident Bal Krishan.
