On Saturday, failing to get any kind of help from any quarters, two college-going sisters of a village in Sonepat district gave a sound beating to three men who attempted to molest them in a bus.

The sisters, who are students in a local government college here used to commute from Rohtak to Kharkhoda daily for attending classes. The accused used to harass them in the moving bus.

According to the complaint, the sisters registered their protest against the harassment several times but none of the passengers dared to confront the well-built eve-teasers.

On Saturday, when the sisters were travelling in a bus the accused again tried to harass them. Infuriated, the girls rained blows and beat them up with belts. A fellow passenger videographed a part of the incident in which two sisters were seen raining punches and kicks on the accused. The victims also tried to get help from women helpline (1091) but to no avail, the complaint said.

Talking to mediapersons, the victims said they were expecting male passengers to come to their rescue after they raised an alarm, but none of them helped them and ironically, some even found fault with the girls over confronting the accused.
