With the growing pressure to look good, especially on a first date, more men are seeking expert help from women to make sure they get their appearance right, finds a new survey.
The survey conducted by lifestyle platform LimeRoad and dating app Truly Madly, was done to find out how style conscious men want to look on their first date.
From a sample size of 2,000, about 60% men showed inclination on having a stylist of the opposite sex when getting ready for that special date, whereas, 40% of respondents shared that they would like their female friends to guide them through.

“Generation Y is very keen on exploring, be it dating preferences or individual style. The fundamental problem is style discovery, which is why they have even opened up to seek expert help rather than sticking with their age-old wardrobe staples,” said Suchi Mukherjee, Founder and CEO, LimeRoad.
“Fashion isn’t just a woman’s prerogative. Men are equally, if not more, conscious about their signature style. When we asked women to create date looks for men, over 6,000 options were created over two days. It shows that men love to experiment and are open to feedback — which is why the looks were such a hit,” said Sachin Bhatia, Co-founder and CEO, TrulyMadly.
