The NFL is abuzz following a bombshell ESPN report highlighting internal frustrations with Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts. Former NFL quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III (RG3) quickly came to his defense, taking to social media to call out what he sees as unfair and excessive criticism of the dual-threat signal-caller.

The controversy stems from an ESPN report detailing alleged locker-room tensions and questions about Hurts' leadership style, play-calling influence, and reluctance to embrace certain offensive changes.
Sources claimed Hurts has diverted from game plans at times and pushed back on adjustments that could expand the offense.
RG3 pushed back firmly, emphasizing Hurts' proven track record as a winner. Despite a dip in offensive efficiency during parts of the 2025 season, Griffin argued that the constant shifting of expectations around Hurts is unfair. He highlighted how Hurts has thrived under the intense spotlight in Philadelphia and delivered when it matters most.

ESPN’s Tim McManus and Jeremy Fowler recently reported on how Jalen Hurts and AJ Brown’s relationship fell apart.
“Multiple team sources say they never saw Brown and Hurts engaged in an argument during the season and were professional throughout the season,” they wrote. “But both also tend to internalize issues, which leads to a lack of communication, sources said. ‘Clearing the air probably doesn’t happen as often as it should,’ a source said.”
