The WWE announced on Tuesday that Scott Hall, aka ‘Razor Ramon’ has passed away at the age of 63.
The WWE announced on Tuesday that Scott Hall, aka ‘Razor Ramon’ has passed away at the age of 63. Hall, a two-time WWE Hall of Famer, was on life support following multiple heart-attacks was, and on Tuesday, his family decided to put him off it so that he could go. Hall's long-time friend and former WWE star Kevin Nash broke the news on Instagram that once Hall’s family is in place, they will discontinue life support.
"WWE is saddened to learn that two-time WWE Hall of Famer Scott Hall has passed away. WWE extends its condolences to Hall's family, friends and fans," the company said in a statement. The Twitter community and wrestling fans across the world continue to be in mourning following the passing of their beloved 'Chico'.
Hall debuted in the WWE (formerly WWF) in 1992 as Razor Ramon, who was the personification of bad guys being cool. He cemented his place as the greatest Intercontinental champion and was part of the historic first-ever ladder match with the great Shawn Michaels. Nearly years later, their match at WrestleMania 10 is still the gold standard for ladder matches in the industry.
Hall left WWE to join rival promotion WCW (World Championship Wrestling) and joined Hulk Hogan and Nash to form the New World Order (NWO), a heel faction that ran roughshod over anyone and everyone on Monday Nitro. He further switched roles to form a babyface faction called ‘The Outsiders’. Hall returned to WWE in 2002 and battled Stone Cold Steve Austin at WrestleMania 18.
After retiring from the ring, Hall capped off a one-of-a-kind career by being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as Razor Ramon in 2014 and again as a member of the NWO in 2020.
