World stock markets kick off 2021 at record highs

MSCI’s All-Country World Index, which tracks stocks across 49 countries, hit a record high and was up nearly half a percent on the day after the start of trading in London.

British govt places millions under tight restrictions as Covid-19 cases soar

Germany set for longer lockdown as death figures spike
