Abhinav Arora, the 10-year-old spiritual orator whose credentials have come under scrutiny, filed a lawsuit against seven YouTubers on Monday, accusing them of harassment and defamation. The self-styled ‘Bal Sant’ or child saint sought legal recourse over social media trolling and hate which intensified after a YouTuber ran an expose accusing him of being a fraud.

His mother Jyoti Arora has called it a “coordinated campaign to tarnish his reputation," telling News18 that her son has received death threats.

Here is all we know about Abhinav Arora, a spiritual orator who is no stranger to social media fame.

Here is what we know about Abhinav Arora:

Arora has nearly a million followers on Instagram, where he often shares pictures and videos that show him celebrating Hindu festivals, reading Hindu scriptures, and meeting religious gurus.

He was honoured as India’s Youngest Spiritual Orator honoured by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari.

Abhinav Arora is the son of entrepreneur, author and TEDx speaker Tarun Raj Arora, who earlier ran the Falooda Express ice cream business.

Fondly called “Bal Sant” by some followers, he considers himself Balram and worships Shree Krishna as his younger brother.

In older interviews, the 10-year-old has revealed that he starts his day at 3.30 am. After waking up in Brahma muhurta, he does ‘mala jaap’ (reads the rosary). At 4 am, he does pooja at home. Then, at 6.30 am, he does the Tulsi Puja Parikrama and offers “Bhog” to the Bal Gopal in his home.

Arora attends a school in Delhi. He had revealed that earlier, his classmates did not like to sit with him as he greeted everyone with “Radhe Radhe” or “Jai Shree Krishna.”

Recently, YouTuber OnlyDesi published a series of videos that raised doubts about his spiritual narrative. The YouTuber suggested that Abhinav’s public persona is not so much the result of his natural inclination towards religiosity but a product of careful coaching by his parents, especially his father Tarun Raj Arora.

Even more recently, a throwback video of Arora dancing at a religious gathering in front of Swami Rambhadracharya made him the target of social media trolling.
