There are reports everywhere that things aren’t going well between actor Avinash Sachdev and his wife writer-actor Shalmalee Desai. Reasons cited include incompatibility and insecurity issues. Avinash tells us that every relationship goes through its good and bad phases, remaining non-committal on the rumours. But he is decidedly upset that some news channels are speculating excessively about his marriage, causing problems in his personal life.

“I have been getting calls regarding it (that his marriage isn’t working out). Every relationship has its share of ups and downs. We are trying to work out the best for both of us. We wish the best for each other. It’s a mutual feeling. But a few media houses are speculating too much for just TRPs’ sake and are just spoiling it further by making random statements,” says Avinash, speaking to Hindustan Times. The actor has been a part of shows such as Baat Hamari Pakki Hai, Preet Se Bandhi Ye Dori Ram Milaayi Jodi, Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon?...Ek Baar Phir and Qubool Hai.

“Avinash-Shalmalee had been quite happy initially but they have been constantly fighting these days. With insecurity regarding work growing stronger, the couple’s conjugal life has been going through a tough time,” Indian Express quoted an industry insider as saying.

When the publication contacted Avinash for more clarity regarding him stopping Shalmalee from working, he replied, “I have been in the industry for 13 years and I have never spoken about my personal life and I will never do so. I am not even bothered about what people talk and assume…. For the last year and a half she has been writing for shows (Thapki and Ek Aastha Aisi Bhee), and she has turned out to be quite successful. It is her desire to not act as of now, and as her partner, I will never force her to do anything.”

Avinash had earlier dated his Chotti Bahu co-star Rubina Dilaik. But they parted ways in 2013.
