Actor Amar Upadhyay, who shot to fame with his portrayal of Mihir Virani in the TV show, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, almost a decade back, is quite excited about his new journey in Bigg Boss 5. The 34-year- old spoke to us before entering the house on Sunday as a wild card contestant.

"I had been offered Bigg Boss during its first season as well as the last season. But due to my commitments, I was unable to take up the offer. But this year, I had time, so, I took it up. I’m very excited and looking forward to meet the challenges that are in store for me," says Upadhyay.

"Being a wild card entry is the best thing because I will be the centre of attraction. I hope to have great fun inside. It’s going to be a holiday for me," he adds.

Upadhyay, who has been part of films such as Dhund and LOC Kargil among others, will be the second male contestant in the house amidst 12 women, after actor Shakti Kapoor. "I am sure Shakti will be happy to see me inside the house. Now, a young man will enter to take on the women in the house," he says.

Upadhyay says his strategy in the house will be to be himself, but staying away from his family will be the toughest part. "Staying away from my family for so long won’t be that easy for me," he says.
