Saudi Arabia is facing a fresh wave of Houthi threats after Yemen’s Iran-aligned rebels claimed six military operations targeting key oil facilities, airports and military infrastructure across the kingdom. The targets reportedly included the Ras Tanura refinery, an Aramco facility in Abqaiq, King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, the Rabigh refinery and a military headquarters in Najran. The Saudi-led coalition, meanwhile, confirmed intercepting two ballistic missiles fired towards Riyadh. The full extent of the alleged strikes and damage remains independently unverified. As attacks threaten critical energy and aviation infrastructure, can Riyadh contain the escalation and will its regional allies step in?
